Many of our pillows are washable. Here’s how to do it:
For cotton pillows marked “washable” on the tag:
Remove pillow insert and zip cover closed. Pretreat stains with a gentle stain remover, such as SprayNWash. Wash cover in washing machine on a gentle cycle; lay flat to dry, and iron on medium setting. Re-insert pillow form and enjoy your clean pillow.
Washable cottons are preshrunk and have been selected because we’ve found they wash nicely. After washing, cotton fabrics have a soft hand and a friendly, slightly rumpled texture.
Like clothing, cotton pillow fabrics will wear out and fade with frequent washing. But if you have kids, pets, or just like a soft comfy cotton for napping on the sofa, washable is the way to go.
For outdoor fabrics:
Remove pillow insert and zip cover closed. Pretreat stains with SprayNWash or scrub lightly with a soft brush and a mild soap and water mixture. Wash cover in washing machine on regular cycle. Lay flat to dry. Do not put outdoor fabrics in the dryer. Mildew stains can be pretreated with a mild solution of bleach mixed with water; let sit for a few hours before washing normally.
Outdoor pillows are made from high-quality acrylic fabrics by Sunbrella and similar brands. While they are designed for extended sun exposure and are resistant to fading, they are not sun-proof. Eventually, they will show signs of fading or soil. Outdoor pillows last longest on a covered porch; keep soil hosed off to prevent mildew from forming. We recommend storing them inside over the winter.
Because we don’t manufacture the fabrics, we aren’t able to warranty their performance. Treat them with care as you would your favorite clothing, and they should last for years.
